Download MetaTrader 5
Choose MetaTrader 5 for Windows, macOS, Linux, WebTerminal, iPhone, iPad or Android.
Use Windows or macOS for the full desktop environment, including MQL5 and Strategy Tester. Linux runs MT5 through Wine, WebTerminal opens in a browser, and the iOS and Android apps are built for mobile charts, orders and account access.
MetaTrader 5 for Windows, macOS and Linux
The desktop terminal is the full MetaTrader 5 workspace for charts, Market Depth, order and position management, MQL5 programs and Strategy Tester.
Choose desktop when you need Expert Advisors, backtesting, optimization, saved profiles or a trading workspace that stays open for longer sessions.
When to use the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal
Choose desktop when you need the complete MT5 environment rather than browser-only or mobile access.

When to use MetaTrader 5 WebTerminal

- Provides browser access to quotes, charts, account information and trading functions
- Does not replace desktop MQL5 development or Strategy Tester
Install MetaTrader 5 on Windows

- Let the terminal complete its first launch before connecting a trading account.
- If you use more than one MT5 installation, keep each installation and data folder clearly separated.
Install MetaTrader 5 on macOS
- Download the macOS package and complete the normal application installation.
- Approve any macOS security prompt required to open the application for the first time.
- After launch, connect the correct broker server and check Market Watch and account status.
How to log in to MetaTrader 5 after installation
Installing MT5 gives you the trading terminal, not a live brokerage account. To use an existing account, you need its login, password and matching broker server.
- Open the installed desktop terminal, WebTerminal or mobile app.
- Choose the option to connect an existing trading account and find the correct broker server.
- Enter the account login and the password that applies to that account.
- Once connected, check quotes, symbols, account status and trading permissions.
Download MetaTrader 5 for iPhone, iPad and Android
The MT5 mobile apps connect to broker servers for live quotes, interactive charts, technical indicators, Market Depth, orders, positions and trading history.
Use mobile for trading and account monitoring away from the desktop. MQL5 development, Expert Advisor runtime and Strategy Tester remain desktop tasks.
MetaTrader 5 for iPhone and iPad
The iOS app supports broker account login, live quotes, charts, Market Depth, trading orders, netting and hedging accounts, and trading history.
Use the iPhone or iPad app to check markets and manage trades while away from the desktop. It is a mobile trading terminal, but it does not run the full MQL5 development and Strategy Tester workflow.
